DJ Dave Ti

Educated in the mid-90’s UK dance scene, Dave packs a history of passion into every set

Falling into DJing at a time music could only be bought by hanging round in record shops for hours on end, Dave left a few thousand chunks of wax back in the UK to visit NZ in 2005. After realising his visit was getting a bit long, Dave picked up DJing again in 2007, with what would be a 5 year residency at the infamous Supper Club just off K’ Road

From here music was back on the agenda, with highlights including winning George FM’s NZ DJ Competition & hosting George’s weekly ‘Deep, Hard, N Funky’ show, followed by years on BaseFM (where he’s still a regular), and coordinating line-ups for events such as the Auckland Volvo Ocean Race, as well producing music for Shortland Street and involvement in productions such as ‘The Pleasuredome’

Dave has mixed it up at many notable places, including Something & Social, Beast & Butterflies, Little Creatures, Parasol & Swing, The Jefferson, Ink Bar, The Longroom, Sweatshop, Stonyridge & Deep Hard N Funky events...an avid producer, Dave releases music as ‘DiCE’ and has remixed Fat Freddy's Drop & The Black Seeds, has releases Germany’s Audaz Records & Too Slow to Disco, UK’s Chuggin’ Edits, and is also owner of his own ‘Hot Jandal’ music record label

Dave's style naturally borders on funky whether it's cocktail-hour-coolness or 2am madness. With an ear constantly on the music, and an eye on the crowd, he loves to play long sets progressing from slow, driving foot-tappers, pulling in influences of Jazz & Funk, to peak-time grooves heavily laden with Disco & House. Expect to hear a UK influence, plenty of disco references, and some forgotten classics -Whilst tastefully steering away from the obvious top 40, Dave reminisces whilst dropping the freshest of beats - Enquire about Dave
